Tim Boender was a 3-year letterwinner on the defensive line for the Western football team from 1981-83. Boender was a NAIA Second-Team, All-America selection following the 1983 season. Boender also earned All-Central States Intercollegiate Conference (CSIC) and NAIA District 16 accolades during his time at Western, helping the Griffon football team to a No. 4 national ranking in 1982. Boender’s 1982 team still ranks as the toughest Griffon squad to rush against, holding the school record for fewest rushing yards allowed in a season with 842.
