Missouri Western State University Athletics has celebrated its 50th season of women's sports in 2025-26 with numerous events, commemorations and stories throughout the school year.
A Spring Signature Event is now planned for the weekend of Friday, April 10 – Sunday, April 12 on the MWSU campus.
The weekend is jam packed with events, starting with Griffon Tennis taking on Newman on Friday, April 10 at 12 p.m. at the Noyes Tennis Courts. Griffon Softball is then home vs. Missouri Southern on Friday, April 10 at 2 and 4 p.m. at the MWSU Spring Sports Complex. Griffon Lacrosse follows with a home match vs. William Jewell that afternoon at 5 p.m. at Spratt Stadium.
On Saturday, April 11, Griffon Tennis faces Central Oklahoma at 12 p.m. at the Noyes Tennis Courts. Softball is back in action that day at home against Pittsburg State, with a doubleheader slated for 12 and 2 p.m.
At Saturday's softball games, members of the 1982 Griffon Softball national championship team will be honored on the field in between games. Griffon Softball won an NAIA national title in 1982 – the only national championship to date in MoWest Athletics history.
There'll be a reception with food and refreshments at the Rogers Pharmacy Hall of Fame Room at Spratt Stadium, following the conclusion of Saturday's softball doubleheader.
The weekend wraps up on Sunday, April 12 with Griffon Lacrosse hosting Rockhurst at Spratt Stadium at 1 p.m.
