Myasthia Kelley-Editone, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, was the first women’s basketball player in Missouri Western history to be honored with All-America status.
She began her college career on the Missouri Western women’s basketball team in 1978 after a standout career at Smyrna High School in Smyrna,Tennessee. In 1980 Myasthia was named to the Missouri Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (MAIAW) Division II Tournament,All Tournament Team and chosen MVP. In 1980 and 1981 she was selected to the 1st team Central States Intercollegiate Conference (CSIC), 1981 1st team All-District 16, and in 1981 received Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Upon completion of her playing career Myasthia’s name covered the Western record book. She held school records in: field goals made in a season (172) 1980-81, career points (1,227), rebounds (963), field goals made (520), and field goals attempted (1,177). Currently, Myasthia is 7th on the Griffon career-scoring list with 1,277 points and 2nd on the career rebounding list with 963.
Myasthia went on to complete her degree in nursing from the Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing in 1985.
Myasthia and her husband Anthony have two children,Anthony Jr. (17) and Brian (13). They currently reside in Albany, Georgia.
