Kim Palmer was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where she was a 3-sport athlete at Cuyahoga High School. She continued her multi-sport career at Missouri Western playing basketball and softball from 1982-85.

As a freshman outfielder for the Griffon softball team in 1982, Kim was a key performer in Western’s NAIA National Championship. She collected two hits in a 2-0 win over Oklahoma Baptist, two hits in a 1-0 win over Wisconsin-Parkside, and had three hits, one RBI, and one run scored in the 5-0 win against St. Francis, Illinois in the national championship game. Kim was named to the all-tournament first team. Head softball coach Rhesa Sumrell said “She is the finest pure outfielder I’ve ever had.”

In 1983, Kim received 1st team Central States Intercollegiate Conference (CSIC), 1st team All-District 16, and 2nd team All-America honors in softball and CSIC honorable mention in basketball. In 1984, Kim was recognized for her hard work in the classroom, being named to the Academic All-America Softball and Basketball teams. In 1985, she received CSIC honorable mention, 1st team NAIA All-America, and NAIA Academic All-America honors in softball.
You will not have to look far to find Kim in the Griffon softball record books. She ranks 3rd on career list for doubles (23), 6th in runs scored (68) and 7th in career batting average with a .307 mark.

After graduation, Kim worked two years as an athletic trainer for the University of Missouri women’s athletic staff, two years as the Director of Sports Medicine for Healthsouth of Boca Raton, Florida, four years as Facility Administrator for Healthsouth, and served as the Regional Director for outpatient services at Medbrook Rehabilitation, Incorporated. Currently, Kim is the owner/president of Remlap Services, Incorporated, an outpatient physical therapy clinic, medical billing and management company in St.Augustine and Palatka, Florida.

Kim presently lives in St .Augustine, Florida where she spends her spare time on the beach with her four cats and 14 parrots.
