The 1975 football season saw Western put together one of the most prolific teams in the history of the school. The 1975 football team at Western was the first winning team in school history, going 8-3-1, collecting what was up until the 2003 season a school record for victories. In 1975 Griffon football went undefeated at home, won the NAIA District 16 title and made Western’s first postseason appearance, defeating Graceland 44-0 during the Mineral Water Bowl. Western finished the season ranked No. 14 in the nation after being ranked as high as 7th.
