Mike Cornelious played forward for the Griffons and was the MIAA’s Newcomer of the Year during the 1989-90 season scoring 539 points. Cornelious was a two-time All-MIAA selection as well as a second-team All-American during the 1990-1991 season. He finished his career with 1,153 points, which ranks him eighth all-time in Western history. He also led the Griffons to a MIAA East Division and MIAA Tournament Championship as Western went 14-2 in the MIAA during the 1989-90 season and led the squad to two consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearances which were the first in school history.
Cornelious resides in St, Paul, Minn. as he works at Murray Junior High School as an educational assistant to kids with special needs and is the city of St. Paul’s Recreation Leader. Mike and his wife Stacy have three children; Michael Jr., Mikyla and Raven.
