Vince Thomson transferred from Kansas in 1983 and soon found his place on the starting defensive line where he received second team NAIA All-American honors in 1984. He was an All-CSIC performer both of the years he played for the Griffons (’83-’84). The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL draft before he later went on to play in the Canadian Football League for two years.

In 1984, he recorded four sacks for a loss of 33 yards and had another five tackles for loss. He forced one fumble and recorded one pass interception to go along with his 36 solo tackles.

Thomson currently serves as the Vice President, General Manager and Co-owner of Ideastream Consumer Products in Cleveland, Ohio, where he makes his home with his wife, Susan.
