No. 47 Griffon Tennis welcome No. 41 UCO, Newman for home MIAA slate

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Tennis (12-2, 3-0 MIAA) stays home this weekend, continuing MIAA play and its strong spring campaign while carrying momentum as the No. 47 team in the ITA Division II women's tennis rankings. Jevrosima Mitic and Alejandra Ramirez Botella lead MoWest at No. 1 doubles and are ranked No. 46 overall in the ITA Division II women's doubles rankings.

MoWest will host a pair of conference matchups at Genesis Health Club, beginning with Central Oklahoma on Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m., followed by Newman on Sunday, April 12 at 10 a.m.

This week presents another key test as the Griffons look to build on their national ranking and continue climbing in conference play.

Central Oklahoma (11-2, 3-0 MIAA) is ranked No. 41 in the ITA Division II women's tennis rankings. The Bronchos feature a No. 22 ranked singles player and a No. 60 ranked singles player. In doubles, they also boast the No. 16 ranked team along with another team ranked No. 32.

Newman (0-3, 0-3 MIAA) will close out the MIAA weekend on Sunday, as the Griffons face the Jets in a matchup moved from Friday. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at Genesis Health Club.

What's Next
MoWest continues MIAA play with three matches next week, traveling to No. 18 Washburn on Thursday, April 16 for a 12 p.m. matchup in Topeka, Kansas, before returning home to host Fort Hays State on Friday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Noyes Tennis Courts. The Griffons then close the stretch on Saturday, April 18 with a 12 p.m. road match at Emporia State.
