MARYVILLE, Mo. – Griffon Track & Field returns to action Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, traveling north to compete at the Bearcat Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State at Hughes Fieldhouse.
The two-day meet opens Friday with field and running events both beginning at 5:00 p.m. Competition continues Saturday with running events starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by field events at 11:00 a.m.
Makenzie Garr led the Griffons at the Washburn Open, claiming a first-place finish in the women's shot put on day one with a throw of 14.95 meters (49-00.75) before placing third in the weight throw on day two with a mark of 16.97 meters (55-08.25). Garr is set to compete in both events Saturday at the Bearcat Invite.
On Friday,
Angelo Baez-Mahr will compete in the 1000 meters, while
Logan Soedt is entered in the 5000 meters.
Saturday's action features
Kayden Crigger,
Wimach Gilo,
Mason McCain,
Sam Shipp,
Henry Trumpp, and
Joshua Zachary competing in both the one mile and 3,000 meters, with
Ryan Ringgenberg and
Mason Orscheln entered in the mile.
Angelo Baez-Mahr and
Dylan Stout will run the 800 meters, while
Meagan Smith will compete in the mile and 800.
Brianna DeBord and
Bailey Cutler are also scheduled for the 800 meters, while
Yesenia Carrillo and
Maizie Hageman will run the 600.
In the field events,
Dawson Miller will compete in the weight throw,
Kelsi Fair in the shot put, and
Abbey Henry in the triple jump.
Makenzie Garr will compete in both the shot put and weight throw. On the women's distance side,
Kaleigh Harvey and
Abby Kinney are slated to run the mile and 3,000 meters.
