Schweitzer places second, women's golf finishes seventh at Grace Shin Invite

Schweitzer cards consecutive finishes in the top two.

EDMOND, Okla. – Saya Schweitzer finished second overall and Griffon women's golf finished in seventh place at the Grace Shin Invitational at the Golf Club of Edmond Tuesday.

MoWest, placing 7th in the 19-team field, shot a two-round score of 601 (+33) – six shots out of the top five. Central Missouri won the event with a 580 (+12).

Schweitzer, recording her second straight finish in the top two this fall, shot a two-round score of 141 (-1). She birdied on holes two and six Tuesday for a second-round score of 71 (E).

Ines Vandaele moved 30 spots up the leaderboard on Tuesday, shooting seven strokes better in her second round for a total of 151 (+9). She birdied three times in her final round, shooting a 72 (+1).

Avery Wells tied for 39th with a 154 (+12), Raleigh Puzio tied for 46th at 155 (+13) and Makenna Casey tied for 69th at 162 (+20).

MoWest is back in action next week, October 13-14, in the Midwest Classic at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri.
