WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Griffon Women's Golf wrapped up the first two rounds of the Midwest Classic, hosted by Central Missouri at Mules National Golf Club, finishing the opening day tied for eighth place at +44 heading into Tuesday's final round.
The Griffons were led by
Ines Vandaele, who followed her opening 72 (+2) with a steady 74 (+4) to sit tied for 10th individually at +6 overall.
Raleigh Puzio carded rounds of 76 (+6) and 75 (+5) to hold a share of 28th at +11.
Avery Wells turned in scores of 77 (+7) and 77 (+7) for a two-round total of +14, matching teammates
Makenna Casey (76–78) and
Saya Schweitzer (76–78), as all three Griffons are tied for 38th. Competing as an individual,
Emma Spurlin posted rounds of 87 (+17) and 96 (+26).
As a team, MoWest recorded a 300 (+20) in Round 1 and 304 (+24) in Round 2 for a combined total of 604 (+44). Central Missouri leads the tournament at +16, followed by Arkansas Tech +24 and a tie between Central Oklahoma and Rogers State +34.
The Griffons return to the course Tuesday morning for the final 18 holes at Mules National Golf Club.
