ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Griffon Track and Field is in action this Thursday and Friday in the Midwest Classic and Multis at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas on the Emporia State University campus.
Thursday's action starts at noon with the second day Friday starting at 10 a.m.
A handful of Griffs will compete in javelin on Thursday, with everyone else competing Friday.
Dawson Miller, Jackson Sigrist, Tate Youtsey, Abby Molloy, Maddie McMillan and Taylor Wood will compete in javelin.
Friday, Abbey Henry competes in triple jump, Dawson Miller in the discus and weight throw and Kelsi Fair in shot put and hammer throw.
In running events, Yesenia Carrillo will run the 800, Abby Kinney the 1500, Adam Ducey 1500, Aidan Jumper 800/1500, Bailey Cutler 800, Dylan Stout 800/1500, Hailey McKinney 1500, Henry Trumpp steeplechase, Usman Tufa steeplechase, Pau Valderrama steeplechase, Jade Wickwire 1500, Levi Huber 1500, Maizie Hageman 800, Mason Orscheln 5k, Sam Shipp 5k, Meagan Smith 800/1500, Ryan Ringgenberg 1500 and Angelo Baez-Mahr 800/1500.
"We're looking forward to another weekend of good competition and an opener for some athletes in specific events," said head coach Sean Gosewisch. "Ideally, we knock out some national qualifying marks. It should be a good meet!"
