BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Griffon Women's Golf claimed the team title in the NSIC Conference Preview held at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs.
MoWest claimed their second team win this season, beating second place Washburn by a single stroke. The Griffons shot a team score of 602 (+26), shooting a 301 (+13) each day.
The Griffs placed four of their five golfers in the top 11 and three in the top 10, with
Ines Vandaele tying for second overall with a two-round score of 147 (+3).
Vandaele shot an even par 72 Tuesday, posting an eagle on hole 14 - a par five. She parred 15 other holes in her final round.
Elsewhere,
Makenna Casey posted a career-best fifth place finish, posting a two-round score of 151 (+7). She birdied 13 and 14 Tuesday.
Saya Schweitzer tied Casey for fifth. She birdied holes two and 14.
Avery Wells was close behind, tying for 11th with a 153 (+9). She parred 14 of her last 18 holes.
Lauren Mallow finished tied for 54th with a 168 (+24). She was six strokes better in her second round, birdying on 14.
MoWest is next in action April 5-7 at the Spring Regional Preview at the Shangri-La Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
