BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Griffon Women's Golf sits in first place at the end of the first round of the NSIC Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs.
MoWest shot a team score of 301 (+13) in the first round Monday, leading second place Augustana by a shot, and leading third place Washburn by three strokes.
Saya Schweitzer is just one shot off the lead on the player leaderboard. She shot a 73 (+1) on a windy Monday, birdying on six and hitting an eagle on 14, which is a par five.
Close behind is
Ines Vandaele, who's tied for sixth with a 75 (+3). She birdied four times in her first round. Also sitting in the top ten is
Makenna Casey, who shot a 76 (+4). She birdied three times Monday.
Avery Wells was also strong, as she sits tied for 13th with a 77 (+5). She birdied on 16 and 17.
Meanwhile,
Lauren Mallow is tied for 59th with a 87 (+15). MoWest will conclude play in the NSIC Preview with the second and final round teeing off on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
