Ines Vandaele is tied for first and Griffon Women's Golf sits in fifth place after one round at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar.
The tournament was pushed back by a day due to weather.
Vandaele is in a three-way tie for first, having shot a 75 (+3) in the first round. On a cool, breezy and cloudy day, Vandaele got off to a strong start, birdying on hole 3. She tallied 13 pars through her first 18 holes.
As a team, MoWest's team score of 333 (+45) is just two strokes behind third place team Northeastern State and 20 shots behind first place Central Missouri.
Lauren Mallow is tied for 17th with an 84 (+12).
Saya Schweitzer is tied for 26th with an 86 (+14).
Makenna Casey is tied for 33rd at 88 (+16).
Avery Wells sits tied for 42nd with a 90 (+18).
The Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational concludes with the second and final round on Tuesday.
