ASHLAND, Neb. – Griffon Cross Country opened their season at the Platte River Rumble "Gold" at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska Friday evening.
The Griffon men came in 9
th place while the women placed 10
th.
Wimach Gilo was the first Griffon across the line in the men's race, coming in 30th and clocking in with a PR of 18:43.15 in the 6K race.
Mason Orscheln came in 61
st (19:21.54) and
Logan Soedt was right behind him in 62
nd with a PR (19:21.63).
Ryan Ringgenberg was 71
st (19:34.54) and
Henry Trumpp was 73
rd (19:38.29) in his first collegiate race.
Dylan Stout, in his collegiate debut, came in 92
nd (20:35.11), and
Angelo Baez-Mahr was close behind in 94
th (20:44.99).
Abby Kinney was the first Griffon across the line in the women's race, coming in 61
st (19:18.65) in the 5K race.
Jade Wickwire was 79
th in her collegiate debut with a time of 20:03.37.
Meagan Smith also made her debut, placing 89
th (20:59.90). Another freshman,
Hailey McKinney was 92
nd (21:16.36).
Brianna DeBord was also in that grouping, coming in 94
th (21:34.22).
Kaleigh Harvey came in 96
th (21:43.29).
MoWest is back in action on Saturday, September 20 at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri. The women will run at 8 am with the men to follow at 8:45.
