Rader named NFCA Second Team All Central Region

Rader earns regional nod after historic senior season.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Missouri Western pitcher Sydney Rader was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Central Region Second Team Thursday.

Rader, a fifth-year senior from Norfolk, Nebraska, adds regional accolades to her name for the first time to go with four career all-MIAA honors, including a first-team all-MIAA nod this season.

Rader led the MIAA this past season in wins (21), starts (29), complete games (27), shutouts (10), innings pitched (198.2) and strikeouts (188). She ranked third in the league in ERA (1.83) fourth with a .205 opponent batting average.

Nationally, Rader ranked seventh in wins (21), tied for first in complete game (27), tied for fourth in shutouts (10), 11th in innings pitched (198.2) and 20th in strikeouts (188).

In the Missouri Western career record books, Rader ranks in the top four in 10 statistical categories:

Rader helped lead the Griffons to 32 wins this season under first-year head coach Nicole Thompson. The Griffons were the No. 7 seed in the MIAA tournament, scoring a first-round win over Nebraska-Kearney.

The 2025 NFCA All-Region squads are comprised of 208 student-athletes from 115 programs nationwide.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams.

All of the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads. The 2025 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 21 at the NCAA Division II Championship Banquet in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
