ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western track and field will begin the outdoor season in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Friday at the Reiver Rust Buster. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Iowa Western Community College Track & Field Complex.

Six Griffon throwers will participate at the meet.
Carlie Bradshaw,
Makenzie Garr,
Allyssa Mahone and
Danika Wattenbarger will compete on the women's side. Meanwhile,
Dawson Miller and
Lucas Trotter will represent Western on the men's side.

Garr and Mahone are coming off outings at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana last weekend. Mahone set a new school record in the weight throw, recording a distance of 63 feet 10.5 inches to finish sixth and claim her fourth All-American honor. The next day Garr (9
th) and Mahone (12
th) added All-American Second Team finishes in the shot put.

Trotter finished third in the shot put at the 2024 MIAA Outdoor Championships before collecting a 16
th-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He finished first in shot put at both the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic and Friday Night Lights on Saturday meets in the indoor season.
