PUEBLO, Co. – Missouri Western's
Makenzie Garr is an outdoor all-American for the second time in her career and for the first time ever in discus.
The sophomore from St. Joseph placed 11
th in women's discus at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the CSU-Pueblo ThunderBowl on Friday. It was her first time ever competing in discus at a national meet.
Garr's throw of 47.02 meters (154' 3") earned her second team all-American status and placed her at 11
th overall. Garr now owns two outdoor and one indoor all-America honor through her first two years as a Griffon.
Missouri Western concludes its competition at nationals on Saturday, as both Garr and
Lucas Trotter will compete in shot put.
Garr will throw at 2:15 pm central, while Trotter will throw at 6:05 pm central.
