No. 20 Griffon Volleyball begins decisive four-match road slate with two away this weekend

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — No. 20 Griffon Volleyball begins a pivotal four-match road trip to close out the regular season, taking on a pair of key MIAA opponents this weekend.

MoWest (18-5, 10-2 MIAA) enters the final two weekends of the regular season locked in a three-way tie for first place in the MIAA standings alongside No. 3 Nebraska Kearney and No. 6 Washburn, with all three programs sitting at 10–2 in league play. The Griffons are riding a nine-match winning streak, highlighted by back-to-back five-set thrillers over No. 6 Washburn and (RV) Emporia State.

The Griffons open the weekend Friday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. in Warrensburg against (RV) Central Missouri (17-6, 8-4 MIAA) before traveling south to Joplin for a Saturday matchup at 3 p.m. versus Missouri Southern (9-15, 3-9 MIAA).

Under head coach Jessica Fey, MoWest enters the weekend just one win shy of reaching Fey's 100th career coaching victory.

The Jennies have won two straight and are 7–1 at home this season, while the Griffons bring a 6–1 road record into Warrensburg. MoWest will then face a Missouri Southern team looking to rebound, as the Lions hold a 3–2 record at home this year.

Fans can watch both matches live on the MIAA Network, with live stats available on gogriffons.com.

The NCAA released its first edition of the Central Region rankings on Wednesday, with MoWest among the ten programs recognized. The Griffons were one of six MIAA teams featured on the list, which was presented in alphabetical order for the opening release.
