Missouri Western State University's 2024 spring sports squads continued to pick up all-region awards Thursday, May 15.

Head coach Alejandro de la Torre's women's tennis program joined men's golf in collecting said mentions. Sophomore Cristina Granero Boj (Malaga, Spain) was tabbed the NCAA Division II Most Improved Player and Player to Watch by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Granero Boj was one of the biggest reasons the Griffons won their first MIAA postseason tournament title and advanced to the preliminary round of the national championship. Being featured from the number four through six singles spots, she produced a 13-1 record with unbeaten marks at number five and six.

She adds the regional honors to a second team all-MIAA selection. The complete 2024 ITA Central Regional awards list can be viewed at www.wearecollegetennis.com.
