ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – No. 45 Griffon Tennis begins postseason play this weekend at the 2026 NCAA Division II Central Regional, hosted by Augustana University at Huether Tennis Centre in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
MoWest enters the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the Central Region and will open play Friday, May 8 against No. 4 seed Northwest Missouri State at 11 a.m. The winner advances to face top-seeded Augustana on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. with a spot in the NCAA Division II National Tournament Round of 16 on the line.
The Griffons are making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five seasons after putting together one of the top years in program history. MoWest enters regional play with a 17-5 overall record and spent much of the season nationally ranked in the ITA Division II poll.
MoWest has been led throughout the season by a balanced lineup featuring All-MIAA selections Johanna Priedite, Jevrosima Mitic, Cristina Granero Boj, and the doubles teams of Mitic/Alejandra Ramirez Botella and Granero Boj/Priedite.
Friday's matchup will mark another meeting between MoWest and Northwest Missouri State after the Bearcats claimed a 6-1 victory in the regular season finale. The Griffons will look to bounce back in the postseason.
