LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — Missouri Western Women's Golf played well over two rounds out west, taking second in the Southwest Minnesota State Spring Invitational on Wednesday at the Wigwam Resort Red Course.
The Griffons were led by a trio of top-10 performances, with
Florence Phan taking fourth overall and earning her first-career medal in the process.
Alyssa McMillen finished in a tie for sixth, and
Julie Hofmanova tied for ninth. The Griffons fired a team score of 616 and finished +40 over par. Only first-place Western New Mexico shot better, and the Griffons beat out third-place Chadron State by eight strokes.
The Griffons are one of two teams who finished with three golfers in the top 10 at the 5,086 yard, par 72 course.
