WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Griffon Women's Track & Field found a fifth-place finish this Friday while two program records fell at the Mule Relays. Meanwhile, the men's squad took eighth.
Indoor All-American
Hanna Williams took second in the women's 200-meter dash, breaking her own school record with a time of 24.61. Kiara Smith of Missouri Southern just beat Williams out with a time of 24.57. Williams joined
Aneesa Abdul-Hameed,
Aniya Kollore and
Savannah Simmons on MWSU's women's 4x100-meter relay team and took first place, clocking in a new program record at 46.66.
Madison Roumph tallied a second-place finish in the long jump, marking a distance of 5.78 meter on her fourth attempt.
Bailey Gilbert finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.54 meters on her second attempt. Meanwhile, Roumph took fourth thanks to her jump of 11.40 meters on her second attempt as well.
Nothing new for indoor-All American
Jordan Garr, who threw a distance of 18.20 meters in the men's shot put to take first place. Teammate
Dallas Thompson made his way into third place with his own throw of 15.97 meters.
Abdul-Hameed took fourth in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 12.17, beating out MIAA rival Lucy Steinmeyer who took fifth place. The Missouri Western men's 4x100-meter relay team took fifth place, finishing in 43.06 seconds.
Halley Wilmes also took fifth place in the women's 400-meter dash. Wilmes finished in just under a miute at 59.28 seconds.
MJ Smith snagged third place in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22 seconds flat.
