PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Missouri Western track & field teams took part in the Pittsburg State Tune-Up Saturday and they broke six school records at Carnie-Smith Stadium.
The Griffons women's 4x400 meter relay team of
Lynzi Miller,
Hanna Williams,
Alexis Adams and
Symonne Holland finished third, set a new school record and had a NCAA Division II Provisional time of 3:48.09.
Four other women set school record Saturday.
Savannah Simmons finished seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.95,
Aniya Kollore placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.80,
Kallin Sheppard finished fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 49.61m (162-09) and
Samantha Cerra also set a record in the discus with a throw of 40.52m (132-11).
On the men's side,
Adam Ambuul set the school record in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.08 as he finished 11
th.
Megan Gillen had the best individual finish for the Griffons on Saturday as she finished third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:46.51, while
Jordan Garr had the best finish for the men as he placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 17.30m (56-09.25).
