PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Missouri Western track & field teams competed at the PSU/Wendy's MIAA Challenge at Pittsburg State University on Saturday.  There were seven MIAA women's teams that took part in the meet and six men's teams from the MIAA as each Griffon team finished fourth overall.
 
14 Missouri Western women earned points on Saturday along with MWSU's 4x400 meter relay, and they had four top-three finishes.  The 4x400 team finished second, as well as Hanna Williams in the 400 meter dash (57.24) and Megan Gillen in the mile run (5:21.47).  Western's Kallin Sheppard finished third in the shot put (12.81m, 42-00.50).
 
The Griffon men had nine individuals earn points at Pitt State along with their 4x400 meter relay team.  The Griffon also had four top-three finishers as Jordan Garr scored the most points after finishing second in the shot put (17.21m, 56-05.75) with a NCAA Division II provisional mark and a sixth place finish in the weight throw.  Cade Schwarzenbach took third place in the high jump (6-00.75), Riley Gorham placed third in the mile (4:27.49) and MWSU's 4x400 relay team finished third.
