St. Joseph, Mo. – Missouri Western Softball is coming off a 5-1 weekend at the Apple Market Classic. They will hit the road this weekend as they take on Lindenwood on Friday starting at 2 p.m. and Lincoln on Saturday with a first pitch time of 11 a.m.

Previewing Missouri Western
Missouri Western owns a 22-8 overall record and a 7-1 conference record. MWSU currently sits in second place in the MIAA standings behind Pittsburg State. The Griffons have 13 of their last 15 games which includes five wins from last week's home tournament. MWSU is 4-2 in away games this year.

Offensively, the Griffons are hitting .313 as a team and have scored 171 runs this season compared to opponents hitting .252 and scoring 100 runs. Missouri Western has seven different players hitting over .300 through 30 games. Morgan Rathmann leads the team with 41 hits and 32 runs scored. Kailey Green has tallied seven home runs this year and 23 RBIs. Shelbie Atwell and Taylor Hamilton have tallied 26 and 24 RBIs respectively. Nine Griffons have started in 28 of the 30 games this season.

Janie Smith and Shyanne Saladino continue to solid in the circle for the Griffons both tallying 11 wins this year for the Griffons. Smith has pitched 111.1 innings this year and has struck out 73 batters while holding opponents to a .263 batting average. Saladino has an ERA of 1.86 and has struck out 65 batters in 94.1 innings of work.

Previewing Lindenwood
Lindenwood owns a 7-21 record and is currently 4-8 in the MIAA. The Lions have lost three of their last four games, winning the first game of the series against Fort Hays State University. LWU has a home record of 3-3 this year.

Brooklyn Sisk leads the Lions offensively, recording a .373 batting average while scoring 16 runs this year. Caitlyn Touchette, Alexis Theis, and Madison Huot have all tallied at least two home runs this year for the Lions.

The Lions pitching leaders are Morgan Colvis and Bethany Fountain each winning three games for the Lions. Colvis leads the team with 55 strikeouts on the year and 72.2 innings pitched.

Previewing Lincoln
Lincoln is 2-27 this year and 1-11 in MIAA play. The Blue Tigers have lost 12 straight games, picking up their last win on March 5th against Emporia State. LU is currently 1-5 at home this year.

Tori Nienhueser and Jessica Wolken are hitting .247 and .226 this year to led the Blue Tigers. Nienhueser leads the team with five doubles this season and has two home runs this year. In the circle, Madison Ragar and Macie Kinsey have both picked up a win this year. They have combined to strike out 27 batters.
