Timothy Peete joined the MWSU staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2020-21 season after four seasons on the staff at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Peete served as the director of player development at UNCG in 2019-20 after originally joining the staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2016-17 season. At UNCG, Peete worked across various areas of the program, including travel, video, scouting and skill development. Peete was part of UNCG staffs that won over 20 games each year he was there. He assisted the Spartans Southern Conference regular season championship in 2016-17 and helped the team reach the NCAA Tournament in 2017-18, a first for the program in 17 years.
At Chipola College, Peete assisted head coach Brendan Foley. The team was ranked in the top-25 nationally for much of the season, reaching the state semifinals and earning six all-conference selections.
Peete was also a high school coach at Arlington High School and skills trainer in Memphis, Tennesee where he worked with althletes from all levels, including Ian Clark, DJ Stephens and Mardracus Wade.
At Tulsa, Peete was a four-year letterwinner under head coaches Doug Wojcik and Danny Manning. He played in 129 careeer games with 61 starts and helped lead the Hurricane to a 74-56 record in his four seasons. As a senior, Peete started all but one game of an NCAA Tournament and Conference USA championship season. He averaged 5.3 points per game and 3.3 rebounds as a senior and earned teh Conference USA Spirit of Service Award.
Peete earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Tulsa in 2014 and his master's degree in liberal studies from UNCG in 2018.
