Griffon Athletics announces staff promotions, title changes

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western State University Director of Athletics Andy Carter announced a series of staff leadership changes within Griffon Athletics, with Greysen Dudley, Katelynn Martinez and Ashli Wicker assuming updated titles and responsibilities within the department.

Dudley will serve as Interim Associate Director of Athletics – Compliance and Student-Athlete Success, Martinez has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics – Visits & Events, and Wicker's title will transition to Assistant Director of Athletics – Game Day Experience.

Dudley steps into the interim role with previous compliance experience and will help lead the department's compliance and student-athlete success efforts. The transition comes following the departure of Madeline Simmons, who served as Missouri Western's Senior Associate Director of Athletics / Compliance. Simmons was recently named the Assistant Commissioner/Senior Woman Administrator for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

"I am so proud of Madeline. The impact she had on Griffon Athletics has been fantastic. We are so fortunate to have talented and committed professionals on our leadership team to lessen the burden of losing someone who played a major role in our success," Carter said. "Greysen Dudley has compliance experience and is highly intelligent and bought into our standards; great expectations and high levels of accountability. I have no doubt that Greysen will be successful stepping into this dual role on an interim basis to provide our students and coaches the service and care necessary."

Martinez's promotion to Assistant Director of Athletics – Visits & Events provides her with increased autonomy while reporting directly to the Director of Athletics. Her expanded responsibilities will focus on ensuring MWSU athletic facilities maintain a "Recruit Ready" appearance, both inside and out, while helping bridge responsibilities between facilities, game day experience and recruiting visits.

Martinez will also add game management responsibilities for Griffon Women's Soccer, Cross Country and Women's Lacrosse.

"Since joining our team, Katelynn has demonstrated tremendous energy and productivity while doing the extra without needing much direction," Carter said. "I am excited for her and her future as she assumes new responsibilities, with the authority to fully own her role. We are blessed with tremendous athletic facilities and therefore hosting events creates a vast amount of activity. Katelynn will focus on these 'visits' and ensure we are 'Recruit-Ready' on a daily basis. Katelynn is a difference-maker!"

Wicker's title will change to Assistant Director of Athletics – Game Day Experience, better aligning her title with her responsibilities and focus on the experience of fans and guests attending Griffon Athletics events and other major functions.

Wicker oversees key areas of the Griffon game day experience, including ticketing, parking, concessions and the overall game environment. Her role also encompasses the attendee experience at major campus functions, including fundraising events, the Griffon Athletics Hall of Fame, golf tournaments and the annual Golden Griffons awards show.

"The Game Day Experience is vital to our success. Ashli has the pulse of what that needs to be from every perspective," Carter said. "Overseeing ticketing, parking, concessions and game environment, the experience of our fans is a top priority. Ashli is a tireless worker and highly talented. I am excited to watch her continue to grow as a professional. I trust her with this vital role."
