MoWest continues conference play looking to build momentum after a strong start, using dominant second and fourth quarters to pull away for an 11-5 win over Quincy in its GLVC opener.

Friday's matchup against William Jewell (1-7, 0-1 GLVC) presents another key conference test as the Griffons look to defend their home field. The two teams met earlier this season in non-conference action, with MoWest earning a 17-4 road victory. This time, the stakes are higher with conference standings on the line.

Griffon Lacrosse junior goalkeeper Ava Garaway was named GLVC Defensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the second time this season. Garaway delivered a standout performance in MoWest's conference opener, playing all 60 minutes in goal and recording 13 saves on 31 shots while allowing just five goals. She finished with a .722 save percentage, helping anchor the defensive effort in the win.
