ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Tennis is ranked No. 3 in the latest NCAA Women's Tennis Central Region Rankings released Wednesday afternoon.
After being included in last week's initial rankings listed alphabetically, MoWest owns a 15-3 overall Division II record with a 14-3 mark in region play.
The eight-team regional field features five teams from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Washburn, MoWest, Central Oklahoma, Northwest Missouri and Northeastern State along with Augustana and Minnesota State from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Southeastern Oklahoma State from the Great American Conference.
The top six teams in the final regional rankings will qualify for the NCAA Tournament, with the top two seeds hosting and receiving a first-round bye. Winners from each three-team site will advance to the NCAA Championships.
The next set of regional rankings will be released Wednesday, April 29.
