WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Griffon Women's Golf sits in 8th place after the first round of the MIAA Women's Golf Championships at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg Monday.
MoWest shot a team score of 318 (+38), sitting 12 shots behind Nebraska-Kearney and Central Missouri, who are tied for the team lead at 306 (+26).
Ines Vandaele is the top Griff on the leaderboard, tied for sixth after round one. She shot a 76 (+6) Monday, birdying on holes 8 and 16. She sits just three shots off the lead.
Avery Wells is tied for 18th with a 78 (+8). She birdied on 13.
Makenna Casey is tied for 30th with an 80 (+10). She birdied on holes 7, 10 and 18.
Saya Schweitzer is tied for 51st with an 84 (+14).
Lauren Mallow is tied for 60th with an 89 (+19).
Griffon Women's Golf resumes play in the MIAA Women's Championships on Tuesday morning. The first golfers tee off at 8:30 a.m.
