Vandaele, Schweitzer earn all-MIAA honors in women's golf

Vandaele and Schweitzer both pick up their second career all-MIAA honor.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Griffon Women's Golfers Ines Vandaele and Saya Schweitzer received all-MIAA honors on Monday.

Vandaele was named second team all-conference, while Schweitzer received third team accolades.

Vandaele is now second team all-MIAA in consecutive seasons, as the senior from Puilboreau, France logged six top ten finishes this season, including four in the top five.

Vandaele's season-best effort came during the NSIC Conference Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri, where she finished runner-up and helped lead the Griffons to a team victory on March 31.

Schweitzer, a senior from Anglet, France, placed in the top five in three tournaments this season, and was the winner of the Newman Invitational on September 30 at Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kansas - another tournament the Griffs won as a team.

Schweitzer has her second career all-conference honor after getting third team accolades in 2024.

Schweitzer, Vandaele and the rest of women's golf is competing this week in the MIAA Championships at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri. That tournament concludes Wednesday.

Griffon Women's Golf will then wait to see if they've qualified for the NCAA Central Regional, which will be played at St. Joseph Country Club May 4-6. The selection release will be published on Sunday, April 26 on NCAA.com.

Women's Golf is in strong position to qualify for regionals as a team. The top 18 teams in each region qualify, and MoWest is currently No. 13 in the latest Central Region rankings.
