KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Week 15 Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award winner for the 2025-26 season, with Ty Henry earning the honor following two standout performances. Henry is the first MWSU men's basketball player to receive the weekly award this season.
Henry powered the Griffons to wins over Emporia State and Newman, averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting an impressive 77.8 percent from the field.
In a 92-78 victory over Emporia State, Henry scored 20 points in 36 minutes, shooting 9-of-12 from the floor. He was a perfect 1-of-1 from three-point range and 1-of-1 at the free throw line, while adding three rebounds, one assist and two steals.
He followed that with a 31-point outing in a 97-82 road win at Newman, going 12-of-15 from the field and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, while knocking down both free throw attempts. Henry also recorded three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes.
Over the two games, Henry totaled 51 points, shooting 21-of-27 (77.8%) from the field, 6-of-8 (75.0%) from three-point range and 3-of-3 (100%) at the line. He averaged 35.8 minutes, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.5 steals per game in the two victories.
