Johanna Priedite named MIAA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its week five Athlete of the Week for the 2026 women's tennis season, presented by ClassicCourt, the official tennis surface of the MIAA.

Griffon Tennis junior Johanna Priedite earned the honor, marking the first weekly award of the season for MoWest.

Priedite turned in strong performances in both doubles and singles as the Griffons defeated Midland 7-0 and Minnesota State 6-1.

Against Midland, Priedite partnered with Claudia Pastor at No. 2 doubles to claim a dominant 6-0 victory, helping MoWest secure the doubles point. She followed with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-3.

Priedite also played a key role in the Griffons' win over Minnesota State. Once again teaming with Pastor at No. 2 doubles, the pair earned another 6-0 victory to help secure the doubles point. In singles, Priedite battled through a three-set match at No. 1 singles to earn a 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 victory.

What's Next
The Griffons host Ouachita Baptist on Friday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at Genesis Health Club in St. Joseph before heading to Arkansas for three matches. MoWest will face Arkansas Tech on Sunday, March 15 at 12 p.m. in Russellville, followed by Henderson State on Monday, March 16 at 12 p.m. in Arkadelphia, and Southern Arkansas on Tuesday, March 17 at 3 p.m. in Magnolia.
