Blue Springs, Mo. – The MoWest women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Central Region Fall Preview at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs with a strong showing, finishing third out of 18 teams with a total score of 602 (+26).
Leading the way,
Ines Vandaele delivered consistency across both rounds to finish fifth at +1 (73–72). Vandaele's opening round featured birdies on holes one, seven, and 18, setting the tone for her top-five finish. She kept steady in round two with birdies on holes two, three, 10, 11, and 17 to post an even-par 72.
Avery Wells surged in round two to secure a tie for seventh at +3 (76–71). After opening 76 on day one, Wells responded with a standout 71, highlighted by birdies at holes two, seven, 10 and 13. Going one under par in round two.
Saya Schweitzer finished with a two-round score tied for 27th at +10 (74–80), birdying three times Wednesday as well.
Raleigh Puzio tied for 41st at +12 (76–80), while
Lauren Mallow tied for 58th at +16 (80–80), rounding out the lineup for the Griffons.
MoWest women's golf will tee off Sept. 8–9 at the 25th NSU Golf Classic, held at Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Okla.
