ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Missouri Western track and field saw four school records fall last week as its regular season was wrapped up at the Concordia Twilight on Friday and Franson Last Chance on Sunday.
Â
"Last chance weekends are so hit and miss after an MIAA Championship weekend," commented head coach
Cody Ingold. "I couldn't have asked for a better showing. Four school records and four spots secured for the National meet are a significant achievement for this program!" Ingold added, "We have a couple of people on the bubble that we will have to wait until the end of the day on."
Â
Lucas Trotter and
Makenzie Garr delivered impressive performances in the shot put at the Concordia Twilight. Trotter achieved a remarkable throw of 18.76 meters, which is the longest recorded by any NCAA Division II athlete this season. Meanwhile, Garr's toss of 15.82 meters is currently ranked fourth in the nation. She also finished second in the discus with a Provisional distance of 47.43 meters.
Â
Samuel Hydro capped off Friday's action with a school record and Provo time of 1:50.85 to finish fifth in the 800-meter.
