Makenzie Garr and
Lucas Trotter's wins in the shot put highlighted Griffon track and field's showing at the Kip Janvrin Open on Thursday and Friday.

In the men's events, Trotter used a Provo distance of 54 feet 9.25 inches to take first place in the shot.
Dawson Miller also performed well with a sixth-place finish in the javelin, registering a throw of 138 feet 1 inch.

For the women, Garr topped the podium in the shot put with a Provo throw of 47 feet 11.75 inches. She also secured two third-place finishes in the discus (Provo) and the hammer throw. Additionally,
Haley Sampson finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 58.02 seconds, while
Abbey Henry claimed third place in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet 7.25 inches.

Missouri Western will return to action next Saturday and Sunday at the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships, taking place at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas.
