ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Lillian Cutler, Wimach Gilo, and Pau Valderrama each finished an eventful three-meet week with school record performances for the Griffon track and field team. The trio achieved this feat at the Bryan Clay Invitational and ULV Leopard Invitational in California.
 
"We competed our tails off this weekend," commented Head Coach Cody Ingold. "That last-minute change to the Pitt meet went well, considering the quick turnaround. That meet was small but ridiculously competitive."
 
"Three school records in Cali, one dub and almost a clean sheet on PR's," Ingold added. "These are the weekends that keep me fueled for the next year."
 
"I am excited for the tune-up opportunity next week before the most competitive meet of the year, MIAA's," Ingold concluded.
 
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Wimach Gilo and Pau Valderrama kicked off the action at the Bryan Clay Invitational held in Azusa, California, on Thursday. Both athletes excelled in the 3000m steeplechase, with Gilo breaking the school record by finishing 33rd in a time of 8:56.52, while Valderrama closely trailed in 37th place with a personal-best time of 8:57.70.
 
In the 800m run, Samuel Hydro delivered an impressive performance, finishing 20th with a time of 1:52.12. On Friday night, Lillian Cutler concluded the invitational on a high note by setting a new school record in the 1500m with a remarkable finish of 4:39.56.
 
ULV LEOPARD INVITATIONAL
Just down the road in La Verne, Cutler started the meet with a strong second-place finish in the 800m run, setting a new personal best with a time of 2:19.61.
 
Abby Kinney set a personal best in the women's 10000m, finishing 10th with a time of 37:59.45. Meanwhile, senior Peter Cuddy wrapped up Thursday by breaking his own school record in the men's 10000m, taking fourth place with a time of 31:09.09.
 
On Friday, Hydro won the 800m with a time of 1:51.94. Valderrama and Gilo capped off the trip to California in the 5000m, finishing fourth and sixth, both under the previous school record. Valderrama finished in 14:18.80, while Gilo clocked in at 14:29.14.
 
PITTSBURG STATE TUNE-UP
Missouri Western also took a host of Griffons to the Pittsburg State Tune-up in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Thursday.
 
Deiondre Williams led the men's team with a strong performance in the 800 meters, finishing in second place with a time of 1:53.88. Tyrease Dutton-Bicalho achieved a fourth-place finish in the triple jump, while Lucas Trotter also secured fourth in the shot put, recording an NCAA Provisional throw of 56 feet 2 inches.
 
On the women's side, Makenzie Garr led the way, taking first place in the shot put with a Provo distance of 49 feet, 3.5 inches. Additionally, the sophomore finished eighth in the hammer throw, achieving a personal best distance of 164 feet 2 inches. MEN'S RESULTS
