ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Griffon Soccer closed out its regular-season home slate at Spratt Stadium with a 0–0 draw against No. 19 Washburn on Sunday afternoon.
The Griffons (9-2-6, 5-2-4 MIAA) recorded their 11th shutout of the season, remaining unbeaten at Spratt Stadium with a 20-match streak (16-0-4) since the start of last season.
In her second start of the year, goalkeeper Katie Stoskopf delivered a standout performance, posting a season-high six saves to keep the nationally ranked Ichabods off the board. Washburn (11-2-4, 8-0-3 MIAA) applied steady pressure throughout, but Stoskopf and the Griffon backline stood firm.
The Griffons had chances late in the game — a corner kick and shots from Kiara Carr — but the Ichabods' defense and goalie made the stops to keep the game at 0-0.
MoWest enters the final match of the regular season in a tie for the No. 5 seed in the MIAA standings with one game remaining. The Griffons sit three points behind Northwest Missouri for a top-four spot — a crucial position, as the top four seeds earn the right to host the opening round of the MIAA Tournament, which kicks off on Sunday, November 9.
