ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – MoWest Men's Golf wrapped up its home event at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational with a strong showing, finishing tied for fourth place at +24 as a team. The Griffons ended just five strokes back of first-place Minnesota Crookston (+19) and only two strokes shy of third-place Rockhurst.
Leading the way was
Aiden Asby, who tied for third overall with a score of 143 (+1), highlighted by several birdies in his final round.
Parker Boggins followed closely, tying for 11th at 148 (+6), while
Tommy McDowell finished tied for 17th with 149 (+7).
Tim Johnston carded a 152 (+10) to place tied for 27th, and
Ethan Mustard rounded out the Griffon lineup tied for 51st at 157 (+15).
Competing as MWSU's B Team, Pat Johnston paced the group with rounds of 77 and 75 for a 152 (+10) total, followed by
Jackson Patterson's 75 and 78 for 153 (+11).
Coby Puzio posted scores of 80 and 75 to finish at 155 (+13), while
Davis Jungbluth added rounds of 77 and 79 for 156 (+14). Rounding out the lineup,
Parker Bunting carded 84 and 80 for a 164 (+22).
Competing as individuals,
Sam Schoeberl carded rounds of 84 and 74 for a two-round total of 158 (+16).
Hunter Williams also competed individually, shooting 90 and 77 for a combined total of 167 (+25).

MWSU men's golf team will play next at the MSSU Fall Invitational, set for Oct. 20-21 at Shangri-La Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
