Knisley nets two as MoWest caps three-game week with road win at Missouri Southern

JOPLIN, Mo. — MoWest Soccer closed out its three-game week with a 2–1 road win over Missouri Southern on Sunday afternoon at Hal Bodon Field. The Griffons improved to (9-2-4, 5-2-2 MIAA), while the Lions fell to (2-10-3, 0-7-2 MIAA).

Junior forward Kendall Knisley opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing a pass from Aidyn Woodall to give MoWest the early advantage.

Missouri Southern struck back 10 minutes later when Talia Sanders found the back of the net off assists from Zemira Dube and Presley Whitmire, sending the match into halftime tied at 1–1.

In the second half, Knisley struck again in the 59th minute, converting a setup from Alyssa French to record her sixth goal of the season and first multi-goal performance of the year.

Katie Stoskopf, making her first start in goal this season, turned in a composed effort with five saves across 90 minutes to help seal the win.

MoWest edged the Lions in shots 16–15 and matched them with two corner kicks apiece.

Head Coach Jake Plocher's Thoughts on the Win: "Ugly playing conditions today. Proud of the way the team worked. And with that being our fifth game in 10 days, our work rate didn't drop."
