ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Griffon Soccer battled Emporia State to a 0–0 draw on Senior Night Friday at Spratt Stadium. MoWest extended its dominance at home, remaining unbeaten at Spratt Stadium with a 19-match streak (16-0-3) since the start of last season.
The Griffons (9-2-5, 5-2-3 MIAA) and Hornets (8-5-3, 5-2-3 MIAA) traded momentum throughout, but neither side could find the back of the net despite combining for 22 total shots. MoWest held a narrow 13–9 edge in shots, forcing Emporia keeper Mackenzi Goen into five saves, while Griffon goalkeeper Morgan Byrd turned away three.
The match grew increasingly chippy late, with both sides showing postseason intensity in a contest that carried major MIAA Tournament seeding implications.
With the result, MoWest now sits in a three-way tie for fifth place in the MIAA standings, just three points shy of a top-four seed with two games left in the regular season.
