WICHITA, KAN. – Four straight-set singles decisions were at the forefront of Missouri Western State University's MIAA 6-1 road victory Saturday, April 27.

Maria Saez (Alicante, Spain), senior
Isabella MacGibbon (Brisbane, Australia) and sophomore
Cristina Granero Boj (Malaga, Spain) led the charge for head coach
Alejandro de la Torre's team. Saez was strong at number five allowing only three opposing game triumphs, MacGibbon surrendered only four games at number two, and Granero Boj gave up only five games at number four. Senior
Anais Peralta Criado (Sevilla, Spain) and senior
Anya Chavez (Regina, Canada) earned two more singles' points, as Peralta was a 7-6, 6-4 winner at number three, and Chavez held off the Jets' number one player in a 10-5 tiebreaker.
MWSU managed the doubles point, too. Fueled by tiebreaker decisions at number one and three, Chavez and junior
Greta Langiu (Modena, Italy) combined at the top spot, and Peralta and Granero Boj made up the number three duo to clinch the tally.
The Griffons (14-3, 5-2 MIAA) close out the regular season Monday, April 29. They travel to Emporia State University for a 10 a.m. first serve.
