MARYVILLE, Mo. — Thanks to last-second heroics by Keeley Kroonenberg, Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State ended in a 1-1 draw on Friday at Bearcat Pitch.
Missouri Western grabbed a 1-0 lead when Kendall Knisley scored her second goal of the season in the 39th minute, assisted by Lauren Nylund. The Bearcats (2-1-2, 0-0 MIAA) leveled the game on a goal from Kaylie Rock in the 65th minute. Neither team tacked on another goal for the rest of the match, as Kroonenberg made sure of that with a draw-sealing save with 12 seconds left.
GAME NOTES
- Kroonenberg totaled a season-high six saves for the Griffons out of 21 total Bearcats shots.
- Missouri Western totaled six shots on goal.
