JOPLIN, Mo. — Missouri Western Soccer secured a 3-1 non-conference win over Missouri Southern on Sunday on the road at Hal Bodon Field.
The win improved Missouri Western's record to 2-2-2 overall, while MSSU fell to 0-5-1. Missouri Western started the scoring when Jaden Skinner notched her third goal of the season in the 10th minute.
The Griffons extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Kendall Knisley — her third goal of the season — in the 11th minute. Southern narrowed the gap to 2-1 on Cathy Ray's 64th-minute goal.
The Griffons grabbed a 3-1 lead with a 77th-minute goal from Corrine Stewart, her second goal of the season. The score finished off the 3-1 match.
