AJ Robbins hired as coordinator of creative content & video production

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Padding Griffon Sports Insider's roster is AJ Robbins, who joins the department as its new coordinator of creative content & video production.

Director of Creative Content and Video Production Zak Brown announced his new hire on Thursday, collecting another innovative and gifted mind to help tell stories throughout Griffon Athletics. Also working as a freelance videographer/photographer since July 2021 for his own company, Visions by AJ, Robbins will assist Brown on team media days and game-day production while shooting highlights and photos. While freelancing, Robbins picked up vital experience working with organizations and clients such as the University of Kansas Athletics, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Athletics, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

With Robbins already playing many roles for various professional platforms in the past, Brown is happy to welcome him aboard at a full-time level.

"I'm really excited to have AJ join the team," said Brown as he enters year two at MWSU. "His excitement to help tell the stories of Missouri Western Athletics will be a welcome addition to my team!"

Hailing from Merriam, Kansas, Robbins graduated from KU in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Exercise Science. Later on from November 2021 to June 2022, Robbins worked as a creative content assistant for Butler Community College Athletics.

In July 2022, Robbins began a new chapter with Job One KC as its social media and community engagement coordinator. There, he ran all social media pages on networks such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, curating over 250 posts throughout each platform in less than 200 days.

Now a member of Missouri Western, Robbins is ready to explore the rich history that resides in St. Joe and witness some more along the way.

"I am extremely excited to be able to enhance the storytelling and coverage of these student-athletes, coaches, staff and the entire St. Joseph community," Robbins said. "A ton of work is put on behind-the-scenes within the athletic department and university, and I love being a part of that. I am excited to be here and an asset to the external relations department. Griff up!"
