GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Missouri Western Lacrosse took down Tusculum in dominant fashion on Sunday, beating the Pioneers 18-7 behind 12 different scorers at Pioneer Field, as the Griffons improved to 2-0 on their spring break swing and 4-3 on the season.
The Griffons wasted no time taking the lead, with
Sam Pruitt scoring the first of her four goals within 30 seconds of the game.
Jordan Coulon netted just two minutes later, and
Madison Brady scored just one more minute after that. Eight of the Griffons' 18 goals came in the first quarter, giving them an 8-0 lead after the first 15 minutes.
The second quarter was a similar story, although Tusculum did score twice. Pruitt completed her hat trick just five minutes into the quarter, and the Griffons led 13-2 at halftime.
Both teams played level in the third, with both squads scoring twice in the period. Both
Hallie Clarke and
Jazmine Servance scored in the quarter.
Brady opened the scoring in the fourth, finding her third and fourth goal within the first five minutes. The Pioneers scored three goals in the quarter, but
Jessica Brook leveled the scoring with one of her own.
