ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Griffon Football is firmly in the race for a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs, taking the No. 7 spot in the latest Super Region Three rankings.
Missouri Western (8-2, 7-2 MIAA) took down the region's former top team, Pittsburg State, 31-30 this Saturday at Spratt Stadium. The Griffons were ranked No. 9 in the region last week. The top seven teams make the playoffs.
The
Earned Access Rule allows for any team in the top nine to take an automatic bid into the playoffs if it is the best team in its conference. If No. 9-ranked Indianapolis remains within No. 8 or 9 by the end of the regular season, the Greyhounds will be granted the No. 7 spot.
