Griffon Football lands seven All-MIAA selections

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – he Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its All-MIAA teams and major postseason award winners from the 2025 football season. One hundred and 30 NCAA Division II football student-athletes earned All-MIAA honors, highlighted by the seven players who earned the league's major postseason awards.

Seven Griffons earned All-MIAA Football honors.

All-MIAA Second Team
Grant Finley earned Second Team recognition on the defensive line, while TreVon Holmes secured a Second Team spot at defensive back.

Grant Finley turned in an impressive year across 11 games, finishing with 21 total tackles, including 9 solo and 12 assisted stops. He made a major impact in the backfield with 6.0 tackles for loss totaling 33 yards and added 2.0 sacks for 17 yards. Finley also tallied 5 pass breakups, recovered 1 fumble, and contributed on special teams with 1 kick handled, completing a strong all-around defensive season.

TreVon Holmes put together a strong defensive season, appearing in all 11 games and finishing with 60 total tackles, backed by 34 solo stops and 26 assisted tackles. He added steady production across the board with four pass breakups and two interceptions, while also forcing one fumble.

All-MIAA Third Team
Five Griffons were named to the All-MIAA Third Team: Brandon Hall at running back, Connor Holt on the offensive line, Crew Myers as a kick/punt returner, Brecken Manus at linebacker, and Deontae Young on the defensive line.

Brandon Hall delivered a strong season on the ground, appearing in all 11 games and carrying the ball 165 times for 810 rushing yards. He finished with 764 net yards, averaging 4.6 yards per carry and 69.5 rushing yards per game. Hall also added an impact in the passing game with 20 receptions for 131 yards. He scored three rushing touchdowns and posted a season-long run of 33 yards, showing his ability to produce both consistent and explosive gains.

Connor Holt was a key anchor on the Griffons' offensive line, playing all 11 games and helping power an offense that produced 1,404 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Behind Holt's blocking, the Griffons averaged 127.6 rushing yards per game on 402 total attempts, consistently creating lanes that allowed the run game to stay balanced throughout the season. In pass protection, Holt helped steady a unit that threw for 2,163 yards and 14 touchdowns, while averaging nearly 197 yards per game through the air. His reliability up front was instrumental in keeping the offense moving, contributing to a combined 3,567 yards of total offense and 24 total touchdowns.

Crew Myers made a strong impact on special teams this season, serving as the team's primary punt returner. He totaled 9 punt returns for 135 yards, averaging 15.0 yards per return with a season-long return of 57 yards.

Brecken Manus put together a strong defensive season, appearing in 11 games and totaling 66 tackles, with 31 solo stops and 35 assists. He made plays behind the line with 7.5 tackles for loss of 36 yards and 4.0 sacks, while also adding one interception, three pass breakups and a quarterback hurry. Manus finished the year with consistent production across the board, contributing in multiple areas of the Griffon defense.

Deontae Young wrapped up the season with 30 total tackles across 11 games, including 13 solo stops and 17 assisted tackles. He made an impact behind the line with 6.5 tackles for loss totaling 15 yards and added a half-sack for four yards. Young also recorded one quarterback hurry and consistently contributed to the defensive front.
